Firmware Update Using a Hot-spot – Single Axis MECHA

In this video we are going to show you how to update the MECHA's firmware using a hot-spot.

Power MECHA on by pressing and holding the power button for 3 to 5 seconds, then wait until MECHA is idle. This can take about 45 seconds.

Next, activate a hot-spot on your 3G, 4G, or 5G smartphone, a smartphone with mobile data enabled and Internet available to it, in 2.4 GHz band.
Please refer to your phone's user manual for details on how to activate a hot-spot.

The hotspot name must be "MECHA-UPDATE" and the default password is 87654321.
If you want to set another password, you need to update it in the /config page as well.

Using MECHA’s buttons, enter the code 312123, then press the left arrow button.

Now, MECHA is scanning the existing networks and trying to connect to the "MECHA-UPDATE" hot-spot you've set, and update the firmware.
You should hear two beeps when connecting successfully.

But what if there is no internet available?
Then the firmware will not be updated, and the exclamation mark will be displayed on the LEDs, represented by three green LEDs at the top and one red LED at the bottom.

Normally, the firmware update may take 5 minutes, or maybe longer, in case of slow internet connection.

Please do not turn off MECHA while updating the firmware!

Finally, you can de-activate the hot-spot. Power MECHA off, then on.

Do you know that you can see the firmware version displayed on the LEDs? Enter the code 3212 and press the left arrow button.
