Shutter Confirmation via Other MECHA – MECHA DAC

In today’s video, we will discuss the "Shutter Confirmation via Other MECHA" setting. We will use a MECHA Dual-Axis Combo (or MECHA DAC), which consists of two motorized rotators and two C1 controllers wirelessly connected. The horizontal MECHA is also known as MECHA-H, and the vertical MECHA as MECHA-V.

On MECHA DAC, the camera can be connected to either the MECHA-H or the MECHA-V. Connect the shutter release cable to the CAM port on the controller, and the PC Sync cable to the AUX port on the controller.
Both cables can be connected to the same controller, or one cable to one controller and the other to the second controller.
Usually, many users connect both cables to the MECHA-H, and shutter confirmations are received through the AUX port on the MECHA-H in that case.

To receive shutter confirmations via MECHA-V, connect the PC Sync cable to the AUX port on MECHA-V. Also, importantly, ensure the "Shutter Confirmation via Other MECHA" checkbox is checked on the configuration page of MECHA-H, as it is not checked by default. Then, click the [Apply] button. In this case, the "Other MECHA" mentioned in the setting label is MECHA-V.
The AUX port on MECHA-H is now free and can be used to connect a remote receiver, for example.

One may wonder, "When accessing the configuration page of a MECHA DAC, is it the MECHA-H or MECHA-V configuration page?"
When connecting to MECHA using a phone, you will note the name of the MECHA’s network is MECHA-H-DAC. So, normally, you connect to MECHA-H. Also, at the top of the configuration page, note the "AP Mode SSID" is MECHA-H-DAC.
Additionally, at the bottom of the configuration page, there is a button that allows you to access the configuration page of MECHA-V. Therefore, you know the current page is the configuration page of MECHA-H.

MECHA-H is usually in AP+STA mode and can be accessed either with a phone at the static IP address 192.168.8.1 or with a computer using a dynamic IP address. On the other hand, MECHA-V is usually set in STA mode.

Short Recap
To receive shutter confirmations via a MECHA-V:
1. Connect the PC Sync cable to the AUX port on the MECHA-V.
2. Ensure the "Shutter Confirmation via Other MECHA" checkbox is checked on the configuration page of the MECHA-H.
3. Click the [Apply] button.
