  • First Impressions with the New Zeiss Milvus and Nodal Ninja

This is my first image made with the Zeiss Milvus 35mm 1.4f using the Nodal Ninja M2 with the RD8-II rotator. I've made panoramas in the past without a proper head and the results were always less than satisfactory. I look forward to making very large files and prints of high quality with this setup including the D850. The Milvus--so far--is a wonderful lens. This bedroom scene is a five frame shot.

Thanks for the share and very nice panorama, well stitched and great B&W treatment ;)

Thank you for the nice comments Vincen. I was pleasantly surprised with the stitch because, like I said, this is the very first series of images with the new pano head setup. I wasn't at all sure I had found the entrance pupil like I should. I've made others in the outdoors since and all seems to be aligned properly. I have much to learn.

        Quite simply "beautiful".
For this application the entrance pupil (NPP - No Parallax Point) does not have to be "spot on" and looking at this you appear to have got it right anyway.

It looks like your nodal point is already pretty well setup ! Remember that more objects are near more precise must be the nodal point ;) Best test is to shoot a panorama in a bathroom or toilet (walls being very near, it won't work well if your nodal point is not perfectly setup !).
