Here in France I sell to my customers the Benro A or C series (Aluminium or Carbon) that all have a 3/8 screw thread at bottom of central column and so you can use Tripod Adapter type A easily :) If you don't find them, you can always use Type B (just be careful to measure correctly diameter of central column so you can order the adapter with correct adapter for your column !

    hi! thanks for your answer.

Iam now confused.. what typ I should use. Anyway, I ve to buy a new tripod. the diameter of central column of my very old manfrotto is too small.

So, should I by a thicker one for type B or a Benro A or C with 3/8 screw in? Which kind of mount is stronger in general for holding the pole + cam?

    Hi,

You can use the manfrotto series as well. New 290 Series or 055 Series will work for example. Replace the rubber cap at the end of center column with the adapter with the 3/8" inside or use the center column itself. Actually it does not matter what type you use. Both methods are safe.

The weight of Pole 2 and rig above is below 5kg. Any reasonable tripod should able support its vertical loading without breaking. It is stability/ steadiness of pole that matters. So stronger the tripod, the better.

if your tripod has 3/8" sockets at the base of center column, get type A. Otherwise B.
