Hi Andy,

LRS D300s NN5 is 60mm.
The Nikkor 35mm is not often used. So I think you have to test it on your own.

Hi hindenhaag,
thanks for your links.
I'm very, very new to panoramic photgraphy. :(
I took a look to http://wiki.panotools.org/Entrance_Pupil_Database
Am I right that for the D300S in combination with the 35mm Nikkor the following values are a good starting point for advanced adjustments?
LRS=60,4 URS=don't know
Regards, Andy
Andy,
Some data in Entrance pupil database seem rare to me. Camera bodies and specially tripod screw sockets are not placed to very rare dimensions. I already had a look before I answered.
Anyway, I tested D300s with Smooth method in the link I have added and it is 60mm on NN5. Just test it with your own equipment. Do you own a 10.5 ore 16 or 50mm nikkor lens?
Regards,
Heinz
You really don't need any figures for a good starting point. You can set up the head to within a few mm using no more than your two eyes in a couple of minutes. You can see the entrance pupil just be looking into the lens (with the aperture stopped down) so you can judge its position well enough to align it with the two rotational axes. Full details are in the epcalib tutorial Heinz referred you to.
