This panorama is 143.779 pixels x 72.110 pixels, which represents 165,42° x 66,44°.

This is very impressive size for manual shooting. Did you shoot at 3.75 degrees or disengage click stops and manual reference the marks shooting at about (guessing here) one every 2 degrees left to right?
I have found when shooting large mosaics manually to do sequences of 10 images before brief pause. Also shooting manually gives great control for pausing to let planes fly into viewfinder or large objects to pass by.

First I used my excel spreadsheet (you can download it on my blog) to determine what was the right setup for at least 30% overlap.
Then I shot a picture every 2,5° using the marks on the head and a line every 5° (it took me 74 minutes).

Hello Yves,

Despite the many unsharp frames you used for the gigapan it is still an attractive image.
Can you tell the name of the city you shot the gigpan ? (the turkish names and text on the buildings and the many wifes with covered heads are all pointing to turkey but I am not sure which city).

You are right, it was shot in Turkey.
The town is Bursa and Zafer plaza is one the most famous supermarket in the city center.
