    I've just received my r1
and now I am looking for some advice on settings.

    What tilt should I use? How many shots (6 + 1 + 2 ??)
Any advice on settings for npp per tilt?

I would highly appreciate any help.

    Many thanks in advance

    Hi Gerald,

Shooting on pole to get a small Nadir most of us use tilt -15°, plus the rail placed 10-12mm forward. Shooting outside, +1 Zenith and a handheld Nadir to cover the small hole. Plus D700 is quite heavy. Moving the lens ring rail forward will shorten the torque cause the weight is centered.

Could you let me know your set up? And what you like to shoot?

I have split my R1 into two peaces: top R1 with Quick Mount mini fixed to pole. You can easily take of camera fixed to R1 Top by opening the QMM. RD4 rotator can be used at the bottom of the pole. If you are interested I place pics.

    Regards,
    Heinz

    Hi Heinz,

Thx a lot 4 your answer.

I've got a Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 plus the nadir adapter for the R1.

I'd like to take some panos in the city.

And it would be very nice if you could post some pics.

    Cheers,
    Gerald

for some quick outdoor pano, I would suggest -7.5 deg tilt, 6 shots around, hand-held zenith and nadir.

You've only one adjustment to worry about when finding the NPP and it only takes about 5 minutes. See http://www.johnhpanos.com/epcalib.htm .

Hi John, I followed the tutorial an ended up with 1,95 for -7,5 tilt.

Will see what it looks like when taking first shots.

    Thx
