    Hi everybody,

I am just busy with a new certified settings database for Nikon Users.

Using the D5100 on NN3, NN4, NN5, we have to use the CP-2 Camera Plate which is delivered with the Panoramahead.

The special problem of the D5100 is it's movable monitor. My dealer told me there is a Canon Model with movable monitor as well. So might be the same problem.

There is no chance to fix the top plate of CP-2 to the back of the camera body because this will block the monitor. I tried the top plate with the short nose on the front of the D5100 body, but the nose is too long. The plate can not be fixed without gaps to the bodies base, which means the plate does not sit rectangular/parallel to the lens axis and camera body.

The only solution right now: you have to grind down the middle of the short nose top plate. This works very fine.

I have added pics and a template from my hand shaved top plate. You have to grind down to the inside of the line.

@ Bill,do you think this might be a good info for the NN Resellers to avoid customers frustration?

@ Nick, do you think it might be a good idea to change the design of the short nose top plates of CP-2 with a hollow free space for the new all around curved camera bodies?

Just to let you know guys to avoid frustration with an overall brilliant system from NN3 to M1.

    Cheers,
    Heinz

Thanks for the info :) Perhaps Nick can replace in future one of the two plates included with CP2 to be one without border ?
