  1. NN3 MKII + Nikon D90 + Sigma 8mm Fisheye 3,5

    #1

    Hello,
    please help!
I have bougth NN3 MKII + Nikon D90 + Sigma 8mm Fisheye 3,5 to make panoramas with my program Easypano - Panoweaver 6.
I think my settings (the nodal point) is right (the under track/bar is at 6; the upper is at 9,1).
Only the spirit level isn't right. So if I turn around the NN3 with my cam the spirit level is at the beginning right (and at the center). When I turn around it moves! :'( I think that's the reason, why my panoramas have always mistakes!
But the spirit level I can't bring at the center - I have tried already all things!
Please help - maybe somebody has a solution for me, because I'm trying already for a long time - without positive results! :'(
    Thanks in advance!
    Medo

    Hi Medo,

a question that is asked several times. Look at this: http://www.nodalninja.com/forum/inde...ic,1239.0.html.

The lower rail setting for the D90 NN3 should be around 56. Test it : http://www.easypano.com/forum/displa...PagePosition=1

    http://www.johnhpanos.com/epcalib.htm.

I will test the sigma upper rail setting for you this afternoon and tell you later.

If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

    Regards

    Heinz

Just found John's "Film" about how to find the NPP without looking through the viewfinder.

It helps to understand of what he is talking about in his tutorial.

That is not the reason why your panoramas have stitching errors. It merely results in an unlevel panorama, with the verticals not truly vertical. This is easy to correct in the stitching. To avoid stitching errors, you should (1) set up your panorama head to minimize parallax effects, and (2) stitch the images correctly. Frequently, the cause of stitching errors is (2) - inexperience in using the stitcher.

    Hello,
thanks a lot for your very quick answers, tips and rail settings !
They help a lot (my found nodal point was really wrong for some degrees)! Now my panoramas are really better
Only the spirit level I can't center for the whole turn-around (once I have centered it - and the room-panorama was really without mistakes).
So today I have bought a 3-level spirit for my Nikon - I hope, than I can center my cam easier an better!?
Once again - thanks a lot for your help!

    Pleasure,

the 3-way leveller will help you a lot.

Remember that you have to center the bubble of the NN3 for the first shot. Turning around, the bubble of the NN3 and also the NN5 will move around a bit. As long as it does not completely go beyond the black ring, don't bother. Everything is fine.

BTW. I use an EZ-Leveller II below NN3 and NN5. Tiny helpful equipment. Have a look : http://www.nodalninja.com/forum/inde...ic,978.15.html
