    Hi guys. I think i am no super pro in panorama making. But i found interesting solution, of how to make panoramas to be more real than just static sphere.
    So now i will give a link for archive. This panorama in exe format because it use complex structure BUT - take a look and post your comment/ideas here

    Main features of my EXE pano:
    • Realtime multi layer sky with sun (sweet look)
    • You can manipulate on sky direction from keyboard (wow)
    • Surround sound (it realy works)
    • Extra color mode (i call it sunshine - this is just for testing)

    Deval VR version i show just for reference - how it look as ordinary pano - before any extra additions.

    At first glance, the moving clouds effect looked novel and interesting, but on closer inspection they don't look real. In some directions they look very unlike clouds, so I cannot agree that the panorama looks more real. Quite the opposite. Another issue is that there are no changing shadows on the land, as there would be in real life. The colour effects don't appeal either, but that's a matter of taste and I prefer a natural look. I'm sure applications can be found for these effects, though, and I appreciate that these are early days in their development.

    Fully agree with John but it's just the beginning so let's see how it'll progress

    Thanks for first reply This example is just adding life like motion in the sky. The target was not to 100% replicate natural sky, but to emulate and that that emulation work quite fast on everage PC. Also this sky full programmable - and at this moment if you want to see artificial sky as natural as possible - the video adapter have to be very VERY fast. So this is balance between quality and perfomance

    About this "Another issue is that there are no changing shadows on the land" Today i was try to catch this shadows. Actually in 99,99% cases we unable to see shadow moving.
    The shadow have some characteristics. They are - speed of movement, density or transparency, edge and particle size (size of single cloud)

    • First reason - generally the sky moving too slow, so the movement of shadow is not noticable. Only if the cloud is really big - it possible.
    • Second reason - shadows have blurred contours, have a big feather value. Also this feather value as bigger, as higher sky level - relatively to earth surface.
    • Third reason - the surface of earth in most cases is not flat, so always some shadows will be hiden by trees, buildings, earth relief etc.
    • Fourth reason - density of shadow as strong as the cloud has much bigger size. And vice-versa, the density is lower as single cloud size is smaller.

    i love it! devalVR can do it too but viewing devalvr is buggy on win7.
