you can easily self publish your own photo books using sites like

    http://www.mpix.com/
    http://www.blurb.com/
    http://asukabook.com/
    http://www.apollo-imagizing.com/
    http://www.mypublisher.com/
    http://www.lulu.com/

any others ? any thoughts on any of the above ?

    here's a book by kent durk of www.360icon.com - http://www.blurb.com/books/864360

i haven't used any of these (yet), but there are many reviews of these services on line, i've heard good things about asakusa, mpix and blurb from friends -

Hi Sam - this is a good thread starter. I'm sure a few folks (myself included) are interested in learning what's out there and how easy it is to make up your book for displaying panoramas.
thanks for the information - hoping others might expound on it.
I have used Blurb - had quality issues with pages (ink blotches on a few pages) but they offered replacement. No way to display panoramas across 2 pages. Super fast service.

    Cheers

I'd love to see some example pages from panorama books. Anyone care to share?

    Hi Gary,
welcome to our forum - a pleasure having you.
Aside from the excess ink issues I had on a couple of pages with Blurb the quality was excellent - like what you would expect from real pro book publishing. You can upload some fairly high rez images and if the image to too low in resolution you know this immediately while composing the book. But as I mentioned earlier you can't print across 2 pages - a big disadvantage for panoramas.
    cheers

    Hi Bill,

It is possible to print a panorama across two pages in Blurb.

Here's a link to an explanation of it:

Haven't tried it myself but it might be worth looking at.

    Cheers,
    Rob

hmm - well I stand corrected. Don't recall seeing that feature earlier. I think it's a very handy feature for sure.
    thx
