Paralax and focal points

Hi all, is it clear at what focal point the nodal point ceases to matter anymore? This is particularly with regard to panorama landscapes. Am curious to know at what lens focal point it would not matter to determine the nodal point of a lens. I have used a 50mm nikon and D70 on NN5 and already feel like there isnt any noticeable stitching marks on objects barely one meters from camera point. Is this lucky ? Thanks

Well there is length of focal used but also question of stitching software you use as they are more or less able to catch and correct parallax error till a certain level

If your software uses smartblend and you give plenty of overlap you can get away with murder. However it is always better to have things set correctly.
Mostly over about 50 ft there is little problem anyway.
