I’m looking at the Nodal Ninja 3 MKII complete package. What are the detent rings? Why does the complete package not have a rotator? Is there some place that this is explained?

    Thanks

The complete Nodal Ninja 3 MKII includes by default a rotator, and it exists also with specific rotators. You should have a look here at details: http://store.nodalninja.com/NN3_p/n3ii-pkg.htm It's delivered with three detent rings, and other combinations are avalaible in stores if u need

    Hope it helps

So the detent rings are a substitute for the R-D** rotators? Basically less versatile, one has to swap out detent rings to change the number of stops?

Well to be precise the rotator included with NN3 MKII uses detent rings, so you need to swap out it when you want to change the number of stops, so it's not very useful if you need to do that in the field
R-D* rotators allow you very easily just by moving a screw (easy to manipulate by hand) to change number of stops

Some People start with the default rotators and never need to get another, It works very well indeed.

The new special rotators are made to a very high standard and are more convenient for those who often need to change settings.
They are made solid and heavy enough for the NN5 range, so they br ing those advantages to the NN3.

I cope very well with the included rotator.
