nn3 MKII+D700+16mm

Hello,

I inquiere about using the NN3 MKII with a D700 with f2.8 16mm fisheye. The rig is going to be professionally used in- and outside on a manfrotto 055XPROB and on a regular bases (and the nn3 fits the budget).

question 1: is the NN3 MKII sturdy and capable in this setup?
question 2: is it really necessary to use it with the r-d12 rotator?

Welcome to the forum.
1) Your D700 will fit the NN3 MKII fine. The load limits on the NN3 are approx. 3kgs (7lbs) and you should be able to get full rotation up with the 16mm. If you want to use longer lenses, an optional quick release plate, or battery grip then you might want to consider the NN5.
2) The RD16 (RD12 discontinued) is a bit of over kill unless you start using long lenses. No need for the super fine click stop options - for the 16mm lens the RD8 will work perfectly for you.

Referring to any of the extra rotators, I actually meant do I need any of these, since I understood that the nn3 MKII has one itself?

The NN3 MKII comes with a great little rotator which uses interchange rings. The NN3 MKII PKG pkg includes a complete ring set.

Hi, I just did the first assignment with it and it works great!!! D700 + 16mm + NN3 mkII is a good combo. Dont photograph too quick cause it needs a bit of time to stop the movement

Last question NIKON D700 and 16 mm rotate without problem on the NADIR and ZENITH position?

MY doubt is that , the space is enough for a complete ZENITH rotation .

I have a NODAL Ninjia SPH - I , the first model and D700 is to heavy and i can rotate on the zenith the camera is to big for a 360¬? rotation

Someone can post a picture of D700+ 16MM in the Zenith Position with Nodal Ninja 3 + MKII

Or is necessary Nodal Ninja 5L

I think D700 is too big and too heavy for this Head

How many picture are necessary to have a FULL Cubic QTVR with D700 and 16 mmt 5/6/7/8

Hi, I have no problems rotating on the nadir and zenith although it is close
I use it a lot but not extensivly. If I would use it daily I would step up to de NN 5
I am very satisfied with the combo for the 3 or 4 times a month that I am using it now. The weight of the D700 is not a problem at all
