  1. Does NN3 MKII support use of Nikon 17-55 2.8 with D200??

I've been searching through the forum and the supported setup lists but cannot find any mention if the NN3 supports the use of a 17-55 Nikon lens when paired with a D200. Unfortunately the budget wont stretch to a new wideangle lens and a NN3 at the same time so I wanted to try with the 17-55 that I already own. Long term plan would be to move to a sigma 10-20 that seems to be well recommended.

    Anyone have a definate answer?

    Thanks

I think I hear customers saying NN3 does not support Nikon 17-55 2.8. It is a big lens.
    Size: 3.4" (86mm) around by 4.4" (110 mm) long

    Weight: 27 oz (760 g)

    Thanks Nick,

Is there a list of measurements anywhere for the maximum length supported from screw mounting point to rotation point I could then do some manual measurements to see how far out it might be. Maybe the use of a T adaptor on the end might bring it within tolerance levels.

    thanks

it is too big and too heavy. You want to get best result out of your expensive lens and camera otherwise there is no point to buy a 17-55mm F2.8. You can get a 18-55mm or a 18-70mm kit lens for much less. :-) The heavy lens will cause too much vibration on NN3II.
