NN5 and Nikon D3 + Nikkor 14-24

Has anyone tried the NN5 with the D3 and the new Nikkor 14-24 zoom ?
The D3 is quite heavy, and the 14-24 is REALLY HUGE. Can the NN5 sustain that setup?

Did you use already the D3 with NN5 ? as I'm curious to know results. Did you find setup already for height of camera to setup on NN5 ? I'd like myself to use it with Sigma 12-24 lens but didn't get time yet to find correct setup :'(

I haven't tried it yet, I'm getting the D3+10-24 in a couple of days (YAY!!!!) and want to hit the road running.

NN5L will work fine for you. Once you learn the settings we hope you might take the time to send them to us so I can post them on the website.

Hi Bill,

I'll take your word for it and order right away. The one I have now is the NN3 I was using with the D80. I'll keep both, as the D80+Fisheye 10.5 is a lightweight and efficient combination in its own right (and they are many places where it's not the best idea to wander around with the D3 around your neck).

I just got my NN5L for my D3. I don't have the 14-24, but with the 24-70 (only 100g lighter), it's fine. I get a slight deflection - with the NN5 bubble level I get one bar in the D3's level. But that's really not much, and I doubt would ever be an issue in field conditions. Even with all that weight on there, it still moves very smoothly.
