    Hi Pete,

Nice to see you joining the forum. I still frequently lurk the "old" forums. But they are the same every time I visit. I hope some one is willing to organize the photo contests. then I can sponsor some prizes.

    Hi Pete,

I'm a Sony Alpha user and was very interested in your measurement table above.

Can you please clarify where you measure the lens flange from? Just that I tried using the 25mm setback you listed for the 50mm F1.7 Minolta lens and I ended up with pretty bad parallex

Any chance of posting either a link, or picture that will explain things?

    Cheers, Ewie

lens flange usually refers to the front-most plane of the lens mount that the lens is press against to.

Peter, There seems to be an error in the entry for the 35-105m lens - 7D socket distance. This presumably ought to be 90mm in line with the other values (or the flange distance is wrong). You should also mention what focal length settings the measurements refer to in the case of zoom lenses. As I'm sure you know, the entrance pupil position can vary significantly with focal length for some lenses.
