I've been trying to find recommended rail settings for D700 + shaved Nikkor 10.mm lens (w/NN5.) Also I'm not 100% clear on what part to align with a numeric setting on the lower rail ( the side closest to nodal point center seems logical ). For the upper rail I use the center line mark on the camera mount plate.

Test around these settings: LRS 89, URS 71 f8 focus ?/16 0,3/16
These are the settings of the D3 with shaved 10.5
