Canon 5d - Canon 16-35

Ok, so I am new to the NN3 and have been reading the threads on this and am still a bit confused.
For this camera the top needs to be on 119 according to the settings, but how do I do that. And I am heading out of town tomorrow and would love to use this for some panos, is there a work around that would not require me to buy the t adaptor?

I'm afraid the T-adapter is needed to reach the 119mm position on the upper rail! There is nothing coming into my mind to go around this.

You need the T-adapter. Also the weight of 5D + 16-35mm is a bit too much for NN3. I suggest you upgrade to NN5/5L for better result.
