    Time to make the rail stop. Can anyone confirm my findings?

    Sigma 8mm f/3.5 DG for Nikon
    4 shots around
    Tilt angle----------NPP value

    +7.5?---------------0.15
    +5?------------------0.5
    0?--------------------1.2


    Sigma 8mm f/3.5 DG for Canon
    4 shots around
    Tilt angle----------NPP value
    +7.5?---------------1.65
    +5?------------------1.95
    0?--------------------2.65

    Let me know if you find any discrepency.

      Hi, I thought your Appendix 1 mentioned as follows:
      Sigma8 f3.5 For Nikon
      (4 shots around)
      R1---------------Tilt Reading
      +12.5?-----------0.70
      +7.5?-------------1.25
      +5?--------------- 1.60
      0?------------------2.25
      -2.5?---------------2.55
      -7.5?---------------3.75

      But I am having some parallax problems using the above. I will try your settings tommorow morning.

        Hi Nick

        I am a little concerned about the values you are giving, because there are 2 types of sliders (see attached)

        I had to change my slider because with D3X and 16mm FD you have to push the slider a lot forward so there is very little holding on in the clamp,
        Now that I have the larger one some would not know for which the values are related to

        Let us know which slider for which??

          This is the old slider shown on the left of your photo.
          So add 1 to the values below.

          Sigma 8mm f/3.5 DG for Nikon
          4 shots around

          For your Nikon 16mm, what tilt angle do you use? The slider at the left should have plenty of room for secured clamping.

            Just noticed that the slider supplied with my 16mm AF new 2 weeks ago is the short one

              For Sigma 8mm Nikon Mount, we changed the slider to provide more room of adjustment recently. Only the Sigma 8mm Nikon Mount is affected.
              BTW, did you get an extra slide (shown at the right) for your Nikon 16mm?

              What is the NPP value you use? I thought full frame fisheye users should use 0 or -ve tilt angles to reduce the nadir size. In that case, the short slider is of the right size.

                Nick, the setting for the sigma 8mm f3.5 for CANON is the same for 3 shots? eg +5 1.95mm ?

                  I am still using the old style slider purchased back in June of 2009. I am also still using the rail insert you made for me (still prototype at the time) at 1.5. After hundreads of panos, the setting is still working just fine for me. I do not know what the setting would be with the new style slider.

                      New rail adds 1cm to the back of old rail. So add 1 to the setting for the old rail.

                            0 2,2

                            -2,5 2,5

                            -7,5 3,1

                            You are right, you have to add 1.
