  • M1 for interiors?

    Hi
Still pondering on the M1, would it be suitable for interiors or am I better off going for something smaller as a second pano head. Shooting with a Nikon full frame so what fisheye? lens would be best suited. I've read some people recommend the 16mm yet i have a 14-24mm, would an even wider than 16mmfisheye lens be better.
    Thanks
    John

    John,

The normal fisheye for FX would be 16mm/f2.8 which needs 6 shots around plus Z +2x N. A shaved 10.5mm/f2.8 fisheye will need 4 shots around, which helps you in busy places like concerts or windy days a places with a lot of traffic. The 14-24mm/f2.8 will give you higher resolution but asks more shots.

Begin with the lens you have and later on you can buy an extra lens. You need min 8 shots around for 14-24mm/f2.8. and min 2 rows.

A longer focus asks more pics but gives a higher resolution.

An RS-1 as a second panohead will give you a possibility to have a smaller equipment and to shoot on poles.

I would begin with M1 and your 14-24 lens and start to shoot panos to get experience. At 14mm you need 8 shots around and two rows with +-45 pitch.

The precision of M1 can help overcome lots of issue with featureless interior.
