  • Friction washer not adequate

    Hello guys,
I have not had my RS-1 for long, a few weeks really, and have only used it on 4 occasions, and the knob to hold the camera X-axis rotation is not holding well at all. I have to turn very hard to stop the camera from turning downwards, and this risks moving the camera, especially crucial when I am using a mini tripod inside a car. I have asked the store I bought the NN device from to send me a replacement, but they have so far not responded (three days ago). Do you agree that this should be replaced for free? I certainly do. I see the replacement washers are brown and have some sort of cork-like texture. The one I have is hard black plastic and seems too thin to allow a grip.

    Thanks,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

Yes, the brown one has stronger friction and is free if you request it.
BTW, have you checked the spare items? Is brown one incuded?

      Hi Nick,
Thanks but I did not get a brown washer. I got a lot of small bits, SEE PHOTO ATTACHED, which did not come with any description of what they are for... but no brown washer.
How do I go about getting one from NN?
      Thanks,
      Mark.

I have just seen that the brass ring can be gripped with pliers and brought down to close that +1mm gap between the thick part of the screw pin and the rotating bracket... It now grips better... but I would still like the brown ring. How do I get one? Thanks, Mark.

Sorry for the issue. Glad you fix it.
You can email your dealer for the brown one.
