  • D90 with 50mm

I shoot my panoramas with a Nikon D90 and a f1.8 50mm lens. Would the NN3 be enough for me? I do HDR panoramas.

Would I need to move up to the NN5?

    Thanks!

    Hi Collins,
Welcome to the forum. Your camera and lens will work fine with the NN3 MKII. This is assuming you won't switch to longer lenses in the future, use a battery grip or quick release systems. If you will use any of these added items then you should consider the NN5 series.
    thx
    Bill

Will a 24 stop ring be enough for such a telephoto lens?

50mm on 1.5x sensor would need 12 deg click stops, ie 30 stops around.
see this for other focal length

look for your focal length in the spreadsheet. read horizontally to find the right detent interval with desired overlap. If no suitable detent available, look for other focal length.
Alternatively, find the detent of your choice, choose a range of % overlap, then get the range of suitable focal length.
