  • Super compact multi-row pano rig using dual NN mini rotator V2s

I decide to build (perhaps) the world's most compact, high-IQ, multi-row, panorama rig using a DxO One at its core. Lots of customization to the DxO outdoor shell, but I have to say it works like a charm.

    - Image 1: Initial design
    - Image 2 & 3: Final build: Compact multi-row pano rig using DxO One 20Mp 1" camera, two Fanotec indexed rotators, and a heavily hacked/customized DxO outdoor housing.
    - Image 4: The various parts before assembly

Awesome pano rig! I like the handheld trick.

So I continue to tweak the pano rig. Here I have a custom wristband that holds my iPhone connected via Lightning extension to the DxO One. This should allow me to do handheld multi-row panos. My first test (single row) of the new system is attached.

This has to be one of the best mods I've seen! Well done.

    Dear Nick,

It would be really helpful for my architectural photography if a Mini Rotator V2 detent ring were available as a 20 (18 stops) version. Not sure if it is possible, but could a custom detent ring be ordered from you? I am currently using the 18 (20 stops) version which give slightly too much overlap than ideal for my workflow.

    Thanks for your consideration.
    Michael

My first 360 pano using this rig. Composed of 45 JPEGs (three rows of fifteen) totaling 11,825 x 33,847 pixels (400Mp).
