Hi all,
Does anyone have any settings for the Sony Nex 5 and the Samyang 8mm fisheye?
I am having problems with the Nodal point and would appreciate some help, also with other lenses to validate my settings.

Also, has anyone had any solutions regarding the mounting of CP-2 with the lip (I saw somewhere, that a spacer would be a good idea.

Thanks,

Rodders

Hello Rodders,

Set your rig up so that the centre of the lens when viewed from the front is on the vertical axis of rotation and when viewed from the side the NNP is about 3mm to 3.5mm in front of the gold ring - i.e. at the back of the lens hood.
See the photos top right on page 7 of:
http://hugha.co.uk/Acrobat%20PDF%20Files/Spherical-Panoramas-for-HDS-Point-Clouds.pdf
This is applicable to all camera / lens combinations.
See:
http://hugha.co.uk/NodalPoint/Index.htm#Samyang%208mm
and:
http://michel.thoby.free.fr/SAMYANG/Samyang_shaved.jpg
for the location of the NNP for the Samyang 8mm.
This applies to the Samyang 8mm irrespective of camera body.
