View Full Version : M1L with fisheye

hi, just got my M1L including 2*210mm MFR-210. Cool!
I'm going to use sigma 15mm 2.8 with canon 5D mark III (no ext.battary pack) as well as longer lenses. Am I right that 170mm MFR is necessary to avoid edge's appearance in the picture? best, Dmitry.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

There are different ways to Rome. I am a Nikonian, so I I do not have data for you. I tested several Nikon bodies, some do the job with MFR170. The rail might to be seen in the pictures but does not show in the stitch. You have to test it.

Next way is to use a combination of QRC40A and QRC40B to slide the camera along the upper rail: http://store.nodalninja.com/index.php/pano-heads/m1/m1-series-accessories/quick-release-clamp-40b.html

Easiest way to my opinion, get a lens ring for sigma 15mm http://store.nodalninja.com/index.php/pano-heads/r1-r10-1/ring-clamps-for-r1-r10/lens-ring-for-canon-ef15mm.html and use the camera directly in the upper rotator clamp with NPP settings of canon 15mm lens for R1/R10.

Works similar to new R1-S: http://www.nodalninja.com/forum/showthread.php?4954-New-Fanotec-Pano-Head-NN-RS-1&p=37881#post37881

thank you so much, Heinz, I suppose that using lens ring is the best. I'm going to order the ring.
best, Dmitry.

Here, I'm just little bit worry as it specified that the rign is for Canon fisheye 15 not Sigma 15. Is the ring sure compatible with Sigma lens? Thank you in advance. Dmitry.

Heinz inadvertently quoted the wrong link. If you look down the list at http://tinyurl.com/dywopwe , you will find the one you require (probably on the second page).
