Hi,

I got some requests about LRS settings for M1-L.

The settings I placed before for different Nikon camera bodies are taken with the Nadir Adapter. They would be different without it. Why? Because the Upper Rotator has to be mounted in a different way using it with/without Nadir Adapter plus the Vertical Rail has to be mounted in a different way to the Nadir Adapter or to the the lower rail without it. The LRS will change for D3 from 185mm with to 156mm without Nadir Adapter. The Vertical Rail/Nadir Adapter has always to be mounted opposite side to the bubble on the rail!

Workflow for changes from Pre-Installed version for use of vertical rail/Upper Rotator setup without /with Nadir Adapter will follow.

Think this makes things a little bit more understandable.

So long,
Heinz

BTW: Keb Mo explained it very simple concerning the flat side of the vertical rail: Inside Outside.:th_wink: Music is one of my hobbies besides Panos.

Blues with background and sort of humor: check the albums, House in California, France on "keep it simple", one friend etc.

HI Heinz,

It is not a must to flip the vertical rail with/ without nadir adapter. You can use same direction in both cases. If you prefer larger nadir clearance, mount in a way shown on the right. If your camera is very tall and running out of adjustment on lower rail, mount it in a way shown on the left.

Hi Nick,

Thx for your explanation.

I believe a lot of users try to follow the manual where you find the comment to use he vertical rail in reversed manner. I tried to show a set up which is shown in the manual illustrations.

I am afraid when we use a lot of different set ups concerning the settings database people may get confused. This would help those who often argue in different forums "you can not trust the NN Database". So everybody should add an explanation about his set up of the vertical rail to avoid misunderstandings when sending settings.

Cheers,
Heinz
