D3s +16-35

Hello guys,

Bit of a wet weekend so spent it trying to determine the nodal point for a D3s plus the new Nikon 16-35 f4 VRII combination and came up with the following:

A = 86
B @ 16 = 130
B @ 20 = 125
B @ 24 = 122
B @ 28 = 122
B @ 35 = 125

All dimensions in millimeters.

Hopefully my technique is OK, but if anyone has any thoughts (I used the 'maintain the space between two points at a certain distance' method), please advise or even delete if way off.

Gents,

Took a series of panoramas using my 14-24, 24-70 and particularly the 16-35 and can confirm that the settings that I found for the 16-35 worked very well. I would post, but the process seems a tad complex.

Did you test your LRS with hacksaw method?

To be honest, no I didn't. I've bookmarked the link and will definately give it a go just to confirm when I have a spare moment. Anything that dots the 'i' and crosses the 't' as it were can't be bad. Thanks for the heads-up and the link...

Good info for a newbie like me. Regarding your measurements, at 16mm the 130mm is the distance from the film (sensor) plane to the nodal point on the lens, correct? For me this looks to fall about the middle of the manual focus ring, right?
