I am new to pano photography. I have just purchased a Nikon D3100 which came with an 18-55mm zoom lens. I hope to combine the panoramic image with data collected with a HDS scanner.

Does anyone know were I can get the dimmensions from the cneter of the focal plane to the tripod mount or just a good set of measurements from where to begin my serch for the NNP?

Thanks a million in advance

Hi John,

Do you know there's a specific Nodal Ninja solution for the HDS6000? There's more info both on the main Nodal Ninja website and also on ours.

I don't know how the Nikkor DX ED 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6GII differs from the VR version optically, but probably not a lot if at all.

The NPP for this lens @ 18mm is 23mm back from the front of the lens, which is 1mm in front of the centre of the silver ring.
When the lens is set @ 28mm then the NPP is 22mm back from the front of the lens.
At both these focal length settings the NPP is a single point.

Hope this helps.
