Erik Hoffman did a brilliant job, "gigapixel handheld pano". Take your time to watch.

Erik, Bill, I think it is a better place down here, under R1 it might be missed.

Heinz, I didn't find any mention of a gigapixel handheld panorama at the links you quoted. Could you provide a more specific link please?

Sorry John, I did not want to mislead anybody. I called it "gigapixel" cause of the amount of pics and work Erik has spend to this project. I suppose we do not find too many panos like this of a museum giving a brilliant overview of this building and presenting a really great project. And I thought this would bring attention to this project. I was afraid it would be missed after a day or so in the R1 thread.
Sometimes I use a word in a wider sense than can be found in Wikipedia. I know, you yourself always tend to be very precise. That is why we respect you, your experience and knowledge John.

Heinz

Ah! It was just as well I asked. You might like to take a peek at these handheld panoramas taken in the Royal Castle in Warsaw by Darek Czarnecki. There's a nice kite panorama included too.
