Hi

About to get a D3000, wondering whether MKII or 5/5L would be better purchase?

Also, where do you actually get your tripod base from?
Nodal Ninja just gives the tripod head right?

Mucho Aubregado,

what lens are you using on NN? for fisheye/small prime lenses or the basic ket lens, NN3 II is fine.

Acid,

I tested D3000 with NN3MKII with all normally used fisheye lenses Nikkor 10.5, Nikkor 16mm, Sigma 8mm. Even with the new Nadir adaptor there is no problem in stability of the system keeping legs of the tripod spread out.

I always use a EZ-LevellerII below NN5/3. For me this is a need to re level your camera to NPP using the new nadir adaptor, which sets a lot of torque to the system forcing the camera to bend down.

You can mount either the NN or the Ez-Leveller directly to the tripod. Without anything in between as its best.

Lenses: Nikkor 10.5, 6shots+, Nikkor 16mm, for 4shots Samyang 8mm, totally manual lens, but very good quality what all reviews tell and good price, Sigma 8mm, but I personally would prefer to take 2 more shots with the Nikkor 10.5 cause of quality. Shaved you can use it as 4 shots high quality lens on full frame sensor.

Tripod advice for use with the new Nadir adaptor: Manfrotto center column is not stable, I used a Manfrotto 055ProB for years, but it does not work good with the new nadir adaptor. Gitzos are more stable with the center column.
Thx God I have read a tip from a dutch colleague about Feisol.com. Now I use this. Rock solid, carbon, very stable in center column even with D3 and 14-24mm lens on the nadir adaptor, changeable center column to plate system.

Feel free to ask if you have more questions, about settings etc.

Regards

Heinz

Awesome!

Thanks Nick and Heinz.

So MK II should be fine.
I'm planning on using wide angle lens (and eventually fish eye) with NN.

Currently browsing through on Feisol and Gitzo.
Regardless of the tropod I get, the NN head just attaches on top or what?

hi, Heinz

May I ask which tripod you got from Feisol?

I have been looking for Gitzo GT 1541T and Feisol 3441S.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I use Gitzo GT 1541T with R1 and NN3.

For D3 NN5 it is Feisol CT- 3372 LV with plate for normal panos and with center column for pole panos. 3441S might be good as well, but may be you gave to get a short center column as well to avoid interference with the nadir shot with Adaptor.

The one of 3372 is too long and is seen in the nadir shot and leaves a hole in stitch.

Regards

Heinz
