Hi I have updated from Canon 40D to Canon 7D. I am not too good in my maths and have tested several settings and will like to compare my setting with yours hopefully. I am using the NN5 with rotator n16 without battery grip.
Canon 17-40mm
17mm setting A=58 B=96mm still not perfect but very close what do you think
29mm setting A=58 B=? Still trying to find best setting
40mm setting A=58 B=95mm still not perfect

I wonder if someone want to reveal is setting with using the 70-200mm

Thank you

Are you using the Camera Plate 2? If so I'm getting my best results with the lower arm set to 53. I can't help with the upper arm as I've got the 15-85mm.

I do not have the 7D but if the PanotoolsWiki is correct the lower arm setting should be 52 (+-1)

The setting for 5D is 53 and as you can se the Tripod mount height (H) is 1,5mm shorter for the 7D.

Even with a very badly centered lens it can never be 58mm.

Thanks You are correct with the camera plate I get better result around 52. Will post later about setting with it for the 17-40

Post both 52 and 53 examples. I think it's 53 you need to set to.

I just discovered that Nick has done some changes on the NN5 L.
The rotator for the spherical arm seems to be 1 mm thicker.
As the scale at the bottom has not been changed this means that the settings has to be increased with 1mm compared to the standard NN5.

Its not a big problem. +- 1mm does not make any real difference for accurate stitching unless you are going to take panos with subjects at less than 50 cm distance.
