What kind of tripod is recommended for using
with a Nodal Ninja 3 MKII pano head.
The regular tripods have a dettachable piece
which is not strong enough to hold the weight
of pano head and the camera.

Basically any tripod will work but it's like buying a pair of shoes and highly user end specific.
As long as the tripod is sturdy (personally I don't like the hand crank models).
Here is a thread on what others are using:

One important thing is that head of tripod has to be robust and study, and not lousy as sometimes it occurs as weight of head + camera + lens will get all that to move if it's lousy, and so problems then

As with some tripods that have very thin legs.

Right, same problem also when you use the new nadir adapter as it offset camera weight pretty far from center of tripod :-\

And get a tripod which raises to around 1,50cm without middle column raised.
Helps to keep your back healthy.

Yes, cause you raise the center column for 5 cm and add the nn5, I am 183cm and can look through my camera without bending. :001_cool:
