Hello everyone.

I'm having a problem: I can not find proper settings for my D90 and NodalNinja 3, I guess I have the first version of NN. http://moonshine.homedns.org:2655/pano/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/nn3_upperlower.jpg

Why are the settings for D90 missing on the NN pages? here is the link http://nodalninja.com/support/camerasettings.html D90 is not there!

Does somebody knows, proper settings for D90 and NN3 1st version ?? Can you share please?

I would like to know Lower and upper rail and some other info if you can.

Nikkor 10.5mm
Tokina 12-24 1st version
Nikkor 18-70DX
Nikkor 70-300 VRII

thank you very much

According to http://wiki.panotools.org/Entrance_Pupil_Database, the D90 measures the same as the D80, so you should have some of the settings you require. Any that you dont have you can measure for yourself. It doesn't take long.

I will try it today.

I know that people can measure it, I'm not capable. But what is the point if you can do it once and properly, so everyone understands. On the NN page there could be simply D80/D90 and people would stop spamming the forum and ask basic questions.

As I can see in the forum I'm not the only one.

Thank you very much for letting me know.

There are so many variables that it is not practical to list settings for every combination of equipment. Wherever you get your settings from, it is advisable to check them and if necessary adjust them to suit your particular setup. I'm sure that you are quite capable of doing this.

Hello Mike,

I usually set my cameras up by eye.
From the from ensure that the bottom rail is set so that the centre of the lens is centred with the NN3. i.e. the centre of the lens is vertically in line with the vertical axis of rotation of the NN3.
From the side ensure that the top rail is set so that gold ring on the Nikon 10.5mm lens is centred with the NN3. i.e. the gold ring is vertically in line with the vertical axis of rotation of the NN3.
The Nikon 10.5mm lens does not have a single nodal point and the gold ring is a suitable setting.

Hello Mike,

the lower rail setting for the D90 and your NN3 without CP should be 49, NN3-CP 59, NN5-CP/2 is 55. Cp and CP2 have the same measurements.

You can use the settings from D80 D200. D90, D5000, D3000 are newer models. Many people ask for something but do not send their own findings back to the forum.

To check your lower rail setting you can use this link: http://www.easypano.com/forum/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=1&TopicID=4162
