Hi Vincent,

thanks for sharing the nice job. What workflow do you use? Stich and blend and then step over to photomatix pro?

Thanks for your comment. Here is my workflow.

Shot in RAW
Reduce CA in Adobe Lightroom
Export as TIFF 16 bits
HDR in Photomatix Pro
Tripod footprint reduction in Photoshop using 2 Nadir shots
Stitching in Hugin (applying a 90¬? to get a kind of 8 equirectangular shot)
Tripod total removal in Photoshop with the last Nadir shot
back in Hugin to apply the opposite 90¬? transformation to get the "classic" equirectangular shot
and to finish some basic Photoshop stuffs (S-Curve, Highpass filtering...).

Hope this will help.

Very creative and well done - the Nikon D3 makes the images come to life in the right hands :-)
Appreciate the added info on your workflow as well.

Courious if you really get a lot of CA with that lens?

When there is a high contrast transition, yes there is quite a lot (well I think so  )

Here is a 100% crop of one of the 360¬? equirectangular

Hi Vincent,

Thx a lot for the answer. Till now i was working with 16mm/F2.8, 14-24mm/f2.8 at zoom 14, 16, 24, 50mm/f1.4 at the same sight to be able to compare the lenses. Sure i will try the 24-70mm.

I shoot in RAW and Jpeg, use Raw , stitch in PtGui, step to Photomatix Pro, do HDRI....Nadir and Zenith in CS4 in between.

Till now i did not upgrade my D3 concerning the buffer. I started bracketing with single release wire controlled release. Takes a long time in rare situations like moving people, strong winds, moving clouds etc.

Stepped over to bracketing taking shots with CL mode, but i ran in buffer overflow without upgrade of the buffer of the D3. This means, sometimes i have to wait to go on plus i have to check are all the pictures of this set taken. "Stress on sight".

Just recived sandisk extreme pro 32G / 90mb/sec. Took pictures with this card on the first day of this year. Internet is talking about problems with this card and the D3. No Problems at all.

You Have to be aware that it takes "some time" to see a reaction in nikon transfer. Just let the led of the D3 blinking. Takes time to get a reaction of nikon transfer...no problem with the card etc what is stated on internet.

Do you have experience with shutter release in Cl or CH mode cause of moving of the camera which i fell to realize while shooting?

I would like to send you something via IM, check datas etc.

thx one again

Heinz

My experience: The 32 GB card is working well with the D3.
