Nikon D300 + 16-85mm

I recently purchased an NN5L Head. I have a Nikon D300 Camera and would like to use it with a Nikon 16-85mm lens for panos.

Anyone using this combo?
Advice?
Entrance pupil data?

http://www.vrwave.com/ is also useful for 360x180 panos. Pick a similar focal length lens if yours isn't listed.
