Hello everyone! Greetings from Hong Kong.

I'm new to DSLR and pano shots. Here are my very first panos using Nikon D90 and Nikkor 10.5mm with NN3

http://360.sunfffd.hk/
I think the Times Square one is my satisfactory work so far, if done without the watermarks.
My room shot is not correctly aligned horizontally, at that time I still didnt know I need to set horizontal control points.
I'm still on trial on the stitching software (dont mind the water marks ) but I think I will probably invest on one of those. Both PTMac and PTGui are cool in terms of features, but I guess there should be a better one right?

Can anyone kindly give me some advise on my panos and the following?
- How many shots should I take using my setup
- How are zeniths taken and stitched?
- PTMac or PTGui?

Cheers, have a nice day :001_smile:

Vertical control points might be better: See this tutorial by John Houghton ::-> http://www.johnhpanos.com/levtut.htm (good site for a few tuts actually)

For the questions:
1) 6 around + zenith and nadir (I think)
2) Point the camera upwards (though not straight up, a little tilt to cover the hole but get some surrounding features helps with stitching)
3) Havent tried PTMac but PtGui is very good indeed (best I hear)

Have fun!

The first one is nice. The rest I think need to do horizontal alignment.

Thanks Ped and Wilco :001_smile:

I dont have a good zenith shot stitched for now.
I always got my tripod or shadows in sight when i was taking the zenith
How can you take a zenith and stitch it without the effect of the shadows? some photshopping? ::001_smile:
